Olhao
Olhao is a busy fishing village, with lots
of good and reasonably priced restaurants. A must for
anyone who enjoys good fish dishes. There is a lively
fish market and everyday the fishing boats come in. There

abundance of
fresh fish in all the restaurants. There is also a 17th
century church and many other architectural sights.

From Olhao there is a ferry
for trips to Ilha de Armona and Ilha de Culatra, islands
with beautiful beaches and nice restaurants. Apart from
a busy shipping area, on Saturdays there is a market,
selling everything from clothing to plants. |

Ria Formosa
The National Park Ria Formosa is a dedicated nature reserve,
stretching 60 kilometres along the coast of Manta Rota
and Vale do Lobo. The whole area, which comprises of lagoons,
sandbanks and swamps, is home to various sorts of plants
and fauna. |
